ONLY RAIN DOWN THE DRAIN STORMWATER POLLUTION PREVENTION Did you know that storm drains and ditches deliver surface water run-off directly to our streams? Even if you live miles away from a river or stream, you may be polluting the water without even knowing it! The solution to water pollution starts with you. • Avoid applying pesticides and fertilizers near driveways or gutters and never apply before a rain. • Recycle leaves, grass clippings and other yard waste, instead of blowing, sweeping or hosing them into the street, a ditch or storm drain. • Remember: Water Pollution-Begins and Ends with … YOU!
