PUBLIC NOTICE Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of West Mead Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, intend to consider and enact an ordinance, of which this is a summary, to authorize Volunteer Fire Departments to recover costs for emergency responses under applicable insurance policies at its regular meeting to be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the West Mead Township building located at 1150 Morgan Village Road, West Mead Township. The title of the ordinance is: An Ordinance Authorizing the Volunteer Fire Departments Providing Fire and Rescue Services to Residents and Visitors of West Mead Township to Recover Emergency Services Costs and Expenses. A summary follows: Section 1 - Title is West Mead Township Emergency Services Cost Reimbursement Ordinance. Section 2 - Authority for Ordinance. Section 3 - Purpose is to enable Volunteer Fire Departments to recover costs for services from insurance providing such coverage. Section 4 - Ordinance applies to Volunteer Fire Departments providing services in West Mead Township. Section 5 - Sets forth authorization for recovery of costs from insurance policies providing this coverage. Sections 6 - describes collection policy. Section 7 - Allows recovery of Hazardous materials Response costs. Sections 8 - Recovery limited to costs covered by insurance. Section 9 - Ordinance to authorize payment of insurance. Section 10 - Repeals inconsistent ordinances. Section 11 - Allows severance of sections found invalid. Section 12 - Ordinance effective 5 days after enactment.
