PUBLIC NOTICE INVITATION FOR BIDS Sealed bids will be received by the City of Meadville until 2:00 p.m., prevailing time, on Wednesday September 25, 2013, at the office of the City Clerk located at the City Building, 894 Diamond Park in Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, for the purchase of marked standing timber on lands of the City of Meadville, located generally on the east side of Liberty Street near its intersection with Linden Street. The timber to be sold consists of approximately 230 marked standing trees estimated to be 65,500 board feet according to the Doyle standing tree scale. This is merely an estimate and not a guarantee. The marked trees are located within a two striped yellow cutting boundary and are marked with purple paint. The trees are specifically described in the contract document which is available at the City of Meadville Public Works Building at 1340 South Cottage Street, Meadville, PA. The City makes no warranties or representations regarding the quality or condition of the trees being sold. Questions regarding this sale shall be directed to the City of Meadville Development Manager Richard Williams, 814-333-3321. This sale of timber is being undertaken in accordance with the Woodland Resource Management Plan of the City of Meadville and shall be subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the bid proposal. Bids must be submitted on the Bid Proposal furnished by the City of Meadville. Bid proposal forms may be obtained from the Office of Development Manager. Bids will be publicly opened on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 2:00 prevailing time in the Meadville City Building meeting room. Full payment of the bid / purchase price together with a $3000.00 security deposit shall be payable upon the signing of the timber sale contract. All timber shall be removed and the contract completed by September 25th, 2014. The successful bidder shall be required to provide workers compensation, comprehensive general liability and automobile liability insurance in accordance with the contract requirements. The City of Meadville reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the bid opening for purposes of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of the bidders prior to awarding the timber sales contract.
