PUBLIC NOTICE INVITATION FOR BIDS CONTRACTS FOR PARKING LOT PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT CRAWFORD COUNTY CARE CENTER Sealed Bids will be received at the office of the Crawford County Commissioners, Courthouse, 1ST Floor, 903 Diamond Park, Meadville, PA 16335 until 10:00 AM (EST), Prevailing Time on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 for the following contract: CONTRACT NO. 13-GEN-01: GENERAL CARE CENTER PAVEMENT REHABILITATION Work under this Contract includes the rehabilitation of existing parking lot pavements including but not limited to: 1. Saw cutting and removing deteriorated pavement to the existing aggregate subbase and replacing it with new bituminous pavement. 2. Placing a new bituminous overlay on the prepared, existing bituminous pavement surface. 3. Removing and replacing the existing bituminous pavement and aggregate subbase entirely to the depth indicated and replacing it with new aggregate subbase, bituminous binder and wearing courses. 4. Furnishing and placement of a bituminous seal coat on the prepared, existing bituminous surface. 5. Construction of concrete curb ramps and sidewalks. 6. Furnishing and installing of new storm inlets and storm sewers. 7. Furnishing and installing of signs and pavement markings. Copies of the Contract Documents (Drawings and Project Manual) may be obtained at the office of The EADS Group, Inc., 450 Aberdeen Drive, Somerset, PA 15501, upon deposit of Seventy-Five dollars ($75.00), which price includes 6% Pennsylvania Sales Tax and UPS ground shipping for each set. DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. The Drawings and Project Manual are on file both at the office of The EADS Group, Inc. and the office of the Crawford County Care Center, 20881 State Highway 198, Saegertown, Pennsylvania 16433, for viewing by interested bidders. All contractors submitting bids for this project must purchase a set of Contract Documents. A certified check, payable to the Crawford County Commissioners, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and the Surety Company, in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid, shall be submitted with each Proposal. There will be a mandatory Pre-Bid Conference held at the Project Site at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. All bidding contractors must attend this conference to be eligible to bid the work. No Bidder may withdraw a Bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. In the event the Contract cannot be awarded within the specified period, the time may be extended by mutual agreement between the Owner and the Bidder. Work under this Contract is subject to the requirements of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act (1961 August 15, PL 987, P.S. 165) and subsequent amendments. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds. The successful Bidder will be required to fully complete all work within (45) consecutive calendar days from, and including, the date indicated by the Owner in the written Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed is expected to be issued on or about September 24, 2013.
