PUBLIC NOTICE Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Fairfield Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, intends to consider and enact an ordinance to require permits for Improvements to Real Estate at its regular meeting on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 22101 Steen Hill Road, Cochranton beginning at 7 oclock p.m. The title of the Ordinance is: Real Estate Improvement Permit and Assessment Reporting Ordinance. A summary follows: Sections 1,2 and 3 of the ordinance set forth the title, purposes, and authority for the regulations. The purpose is to acquire information about real estate improvements to report to the Assessment Office as required by law and to coordinate other township regulations affecting the improvements being made. Section 4 sets forth applicable definitions. Section 5 requires permits issued by the township for Improvements to Real Estate and Section 6 excepts certain minor repairs as described. Sections 7 and 8 provide for administration by a permit officer and the application requirements. Section 9 makes permit issuance dependent on obtaining other required governmental permits and approvals. Section 10 requires payment of permit fees. Section 11 allows inspections for compliance. Section 12 provides for reports of the improvements to the County Assessment Office. Sections 13, 14, and 15 provide for Enforcement Notices for violations, penalties of up to $300 per day for each violation upon conviction, and other remedies as provided at law. Sections 16, 17 and 18 repeal inconsistent ordinances, allow severance of sections found invalid and make the ordinance effective 5 days after enactment.
