PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE Pursuant to the "Non-Coal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act" and the "Clean Stream Law" notice is hereby given that Don and Randy Ferris, Inc. doing business at 23773 Mackey Hill Road, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403 has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to transfer the existing Surface Mine Permit No. 20910303 from Donald Ferris. The 38.2 acre permit area known as the Ferris Pit #1 is situated in Rockdale Township, Crawford County approximately five miles east of Cambridge Springs, PA. More specifically, the permit area is described as follows: starting at a point along Mackey Hill Road S.R. 1035 approximately 3400 feet north of the intersection of Miller Station Road S.R. 1016, the permit boundary extends west approximately 1400 feet, north 1850 feet and east 800 feet. The permit boundary then extends south for approximately 1200 feet, east 600 feet and then south for 600 feet back to the point of beginning. The receiving streams for this area are unnamed tributaries to French Creek and to Kelly Run. This area can be found on the Miller Station PA U.S.G.S. topographic map. This application includes a request for authorization under an Individual NPDES Permit. A copy of the application is available at the Crawford County Conservation District, 21742 German Road, Meadville, PA 16335. Written comments, objections or a request for public hearing or informal conference may be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Knox District Mining Office, P.O. Box 699, Knox, PA 16232-0669. The exception must include the person's name, address, telephone number and a brief statement to the nature of the objection.
