PUBLIC NOTICE CONTRACT #1 INVITATION FOR BIDS ALBION BOROUGH 1.2 MG WATER STORAGE TANK CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ALBION BOROUGH will receive sealed bids for a new 1.2 million gallon bolted steel glass lined Water Storage Tank Construction Project until 2 p.m. on Wednesday April 9th, 2014, at the Albion Borough Office, 26 Smock Avenue, Albion, PA., at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Separate Bids are invited for the following: The construction of a new 1.2 million gallon bolted steel potable water storage tank to be located on the east side of Reservoir Road, in Elk Creek Township, Erie County. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, labor and installation of a new potable above-ground water storage tank, land clearing, access road installation and appurtenances. Contract Documents, including drawings and technical specifications, may be reviewed/obtained at the office of Rabell Surveying and Engineering, 10560 Walnut Street, Albion, Pennsylvania 16401, 814-756-4384, for a non-refundable fee of $50.00. Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons whose names and addresses are on record as having obtained the Contract Documents. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond with corporate surety payable to Albion Borough in an amount equal to 10% of the bid. The project is being carried out in part with local municipal funding, and as such, Pa. Prevailing Wage Rates and other labor standards provisions, as set forth in the Contract Documents, are applicable. Attention is called the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project. Notice is also hereby given that this project is regulated under Executive Order 11246 to insure equal opportunity for all persons. This includes all subcontractors. Failure of a contractor or applicant to comply with any provision of the regulations shall be grounds for imposition of any or all of the sanctions authorized by the order. Substantial completion for this project is 120 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Albion Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any formalities in the bidding. Bids may be held for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of opening bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding the Contracts. 03/25,29/14
