PUBLIC NOTICE This legal notice is for Cochranton Boro residents only. An error on the Library millage portion of the County and Local tax bills was made during data entry and not found before bills were sent to the printer and issued to your Tax Collector for distribution to the taxpayers. The official Library Tax Millage for 2014 is .6 mils. However the incorrect amount of .62 mils was submitted, calculated and printed on the bills. With 586 total taxable parcels in Cochranton Boro this resulted in a total increase of $277.99 in the Library Tax above the correct amount. The corrective action is to offset this increase in 2015 by reducing the approved 2015 Library Tax by .02 for Cochranton Boro residents only, which will offset the mistake made this year and preclude the confusion, additional cost and processing time to resend tax bills to all residents.
