PUBLIC NOTICE INVITATION FOR BIDS The Borough of Cambridge Springs will receive sealed bids labeled for the Root Avenue Waterline Replacement Project, until 3:00 p.m. on the 15th day of May, 2014, at the Borough of Cambridge Springs Office, located at 161 Carringer Street, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Root Avenue Waterline Replacement Project involves the following work: • Installation of approximately 890 lineal feet of 8 inch PVC C-900 waterline within Root Avenue and Main Street. • Connection of new waterline to existing waterlines at Canfield, Bolard and Main Streets. • Replacement of nine (9) existing water service connections with new service connections and curb boxes. • Installation of resilient wedge gate valves. ß Installation of hydrant assemblies. • Maintenance of water service to existing customers. • Traffic control in Borough Streets and PennDOT right of way. • Surface restoration including Superpave pavement, concrete sidewalk, concrete curbing and vegetation. Contract Documents prepared by Hill Engineering, Inc., including drawings and technical specifications, may be examined at the Borough of Cambridge Springs Office and may be obtained from Hill Engineering, Inc., 8 Gibson Street, North East, PA 16428, 814-725-8659 for a non-refundable payment of $50. Bidders requesting the documents to be shipped will be responsible for the shipping charges. Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons whose name and address are on record as having obtained the Contract Documents. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a certified check, cashiers check or bid bond with corporate surety, payable to the Borough of Cambridge Springs in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price. This Project is subject to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry Prevailing Wage Rate Determinations, which are included in the Contract Documents.
