PUBLIC NOTICE Pursuant to the Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act, the act of May 19, 1995, P.L. 4, No. 1995-2., notice is hereby given that Mercer County State Bank has submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection a Notice of Intent to Remediate (NIR) for a site located at 309 Venango Avenue, Cambridge Springs Borough, Crawford County, Pennsylvania. This NIR states that the site formerly operated as a retail petroleum refueling facility and most recently operated as Vogel's Market. Abandoned underground storage tanks (USTs) were discovered on the site and removed. Soil and groundwater at the site have been found to be contaminated with leaded gasoline constituents. Source removal and monitored natural attenuation are the proposed remedial technologies for the site. The proposed future use of the property will be non-residential for commercial/storage purposes.
