PUBLIC NOTICE INVITATION FOR BIDS The County of Crawford will receive sealed bids labeled for the Guys Mills Mutual Water Association Water System Improvements Project until 10:00 A.M. on Monday. September 22. 2014, in the office of the Crawford County Planning Commission, in the Crawford County Courthouse located at 903 Diamond Square, Meadville, PA 16335, at which time and place all bids will be opened and read aloud. Bids should be sealed in an opaque envelope and clearly marked "Sealed Bid for the Guys Mills Mutual Water Association Water System Improvements Project." Bids are invited for the following: the furnishing and installation of a water filtration system with nitrate selective resin including pumps, a backwash discharge pipe and appurtenant facilities and restoration activities located at the site of the Guys Mills Mutual Water Association well house approximately 0.25 mile west of State Route 198 on Plank Road near Guys Mills in Randolph Township, Crawford County. Contract Documents, including drawings and technical specifications, may be reviewed/obtained at the office of the engineer, Mark J. Corey & Associates, P.O. Box 268. Harborcreek. PA 16421; Telephone: (814) 897-3180, for a non-refundable deposit of Fifty Dollars ($50.00). Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons whose name and address are on record as having obtained the Contract Documents. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a certified or cashier's check or a satisfactory bid bond with corporate surety payable to the County of Crawford in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid price. Attention is called to Federal and State civil rights and equal employment opportunity requirements; and Section 3 Compliance Requirements, all as set forth in the Contract Documents. Attention of the bidder is also called to the requirement to pay Davis Bacon Wage Rates and comply with applicable labor standards provisions. In addition to the Equal Employment requirements of Executive Order 11246, the Contractor must also establish a 3% goal for women business enterprises and a 5% goal for minority business enterprises in his aggregate on-site construction work force. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materialsmen Bond each in the amount of I 00 hundred percent (I00%) of the contract price. Bids may be held by the County for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of opening bids. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.
