CITY OF BURNSIDE, KY NOW HIRING POSITION: POLICE PATROL OFFICER (Full Time) JOB DESCRIPTION: Position will include, but is not limited to, the fol-lowing: Perform uniformed duties, work days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Legally operate a motor vehicle, answer calls for service/ assistance, protect lives and property, write reports, investigate criminal activity, investigate motor vehicle collisions, enforce state and local statutes, and any other duties as determined by Burnside Police Department Policy. PAY AND BENEFITS: Pay scale for this position is $19,600.00 to $24,960.00, based on experience of applicant. Benefits include vacations, holidays, sick pay per existing ordinances, as well as dental insurance for employee, life insurance for employee and fully paid family group health coverage for the employee and legal dependents. Upon POPS Certification the employee will receive additionally $3,100.00 annually in KLEFPF funds. Further a new employee will participate in the CERS Hazardous Duty Retirement Program (25 years). REQUIREMENTS: The successful applicant must: Be 21 years of age, citizen of the United States, a high school graduate or have successfully completed a GED examination, have no felony convictions, not be prohib-ited by federal or state law from possessing a firearm and/or other deadly weapons, and possess a valid Kentucky motor vehicle operator=s license. Applicant must pass the following: Pre-employment medical physical examination by a physician, physical agility test, drug screen, polygraph exam, psychological exam and a rigorous background examination. Prior certification by the State of Kentucky as a Peace Officer (as defined by KRS 15.330(1)) and attendance to the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training Academy is not required, however prior certified officers are encouraged to apply.
