Notice is hereby given that Sheetz, Inc. has submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection a Remedial Investigation Report for a site located at 410 Central Avenue, Johnstown City, Johnstown, Pennsylvania. This Remedial Investigation Report states that the Site is currently an undeveloped parcel of land that will be developed into additional parking for the adjacent Sheetz, Inc. convenience store and retail gasoline dispensing facility. The Site has been found to contain 1,2,4-trimehylbenzene, 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene, benzene, methyl tert-butyl ether, naphthalene, and lead in soil above the applicable statewide health standards for soils. Groundwater at the Site exhibits 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene, 1,3,5-trimethylbenzen, benzene, ethylbenzene, naphthalene, at levels exceeding the applicable statewide health standards for groundwater. Soil vapor at the Site has not exhibited exceedances of the applicable standards for soil vapor. Sheetz, Inc. has indicated that the proposed remediation measures will be through the characterization of exposure pathways and risk assessment measures. The proposed future use of the property will be as additional parking for the adjacent Sheetz, Inc., convenience store and retail gasoline dispensing facility for the foreseeable future. Sheetz, Inc. plans to use the site-specific standard at the Site. This notice is made under the provision of the Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act, the Act of May 19, 1995, P.L. #4, No. 2.
