NOTICE TO PUBLIC FAIR HOUSING RESOLUTIONS COUNTY OF CAMBRIA, PENNSYLVANIA LET IT BE KNOWN TO ALL PERSONS of the County of Cambria that discrimination in the sale, rental, leasing, financing of housing or land to be used for construction of housing, or in the provision of brokerage services because of race, color, religion, ancestry, sex, national origin, familial status, handicap or disability is prohibited by Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (Federal Fair Housing Law) and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.Ê It is the policy of the County of Cambria and certain other sponsoring municipalities to implement programs to ensure equal opportunity in housing for all persons regardless of race, color, religion, ancestry, sex, national origin, handicap or disability, or familial status (families with children). Ê The Cambria County Board of Commissioners, as well as the governing bodies of the City of Johnstown, the Boroughs of Carrolltown, Cassandra, Cresson, Dale, Ebensburg, East Conemaugh, Franklin, Gallitzin, Geistown, Hastings, Lilly, Loretto, Nanty Glo, Northern Cambria, Patton, Portage, Sankertown, Tunnelhill and Vintondale, and the Townships of Adams, Barr, Blacklick, Cambria, Conemaugh, Cresson, Croyle, Dean, Jackson, Lower Yoder, Middle Taylor, Portage, Reade, Stonycreek, Summerhill, Susquehanna, Washington, West Carroll, West Taylor and White, have adopted and/or will adopt fair housing resolutions which indicate the following: Ê That within available resources the municipality will assist all persons who feel that they have been discriminated against because of race, color, religion, ancestry, sex, national origin, handicap or disability or familial status (families with children) to seek equity under federal and state laws by filing a complaint with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.Ê Persons are notified to directly contact either the Fair Housing Officer of the County of Cambria or the Fair Housing Officer of the City of Johnstown, for assistance on filing a complaint. Ê That publication of this Notice, and the distribution of fair housing information by posters, flyers and other means of printing and publicity, will bring to the attention of those affected, the knowledge of their respective responsibilities and rights concerning equal opportunity in housing, and Ê That publication of this Notice shall cause owners of real estate, developers, and builders to become aware of their respective responsibilities and rights under the Federal Fair Housing Law, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, and any local laws or ordinances.
