Maryland Department of the Environment Land Management Administration Notice of Sewage Sludge Utilization Permit Application Received In accordance with the newly promulgated Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 26.04.06.14, notice is hereby given that the Maryland Department of the Environment (the "Department") has received a Sewage Sludge Utilization (SSU) Permit Application from the Upper Potomac River Commission (UPRC) to continue to treat sewage sludge at the UPRC Wastewater Treatment Plant, which is located at 528 Maryland Avenue in Allegany County. The issuance of a SSU Permit will supersede the existing approval or authorization previously granted by the Department for the treatment of sewage sludge at this facility. A copy of the permit application has been provided to the Allegany County Commissioners and to the Allegany County Health Department. The Allegany County Commissioners may request a public hearing regarding this application within 15 calendar days of the receipt of this application.
