NOTICE OF BLASTING SCHEDULE Notice is hereby given that Beechwood Coal, LLC / 19709 Winners View Terrace, Frostburg, MD 21532 (301) 463-2357 intends to conduct blasting activities on surface mine Permit SM-11-457 Pond Hill Mine located in Election District 10 of Allegany County, 0.5 miles north of Lonaconing, Maryland in accordance with all applicable State and Federal laws. Blasting activities will commence and continue in accordance with the following schedule of dates and time periods, as approved by the Maryland Department of the Environment / Bureau of Mines. Blasting will occur Monday through Saturday from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015 between the hours of 8:00 AM to 12:00 NOON and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, except Sundays and holidays. Public access to the blasting area will be controlled prior to blasting by barricading all accesses to the permit area. At least 3 minutes prior to blasting a pre-blast warning signal of three short horn blasts of five seconds duration at 5-second intervals will be sounded. After the blast, one 20 second horn blast will indicate an All-Clear signal. Blasting activities will not be conducted at times other than those announced except in the event of an emergency situation where rain, lightning, other atmospheric conditions, or operator or public safety dictate an unscheduled detonation. Any resident or owner of a dwelling within one-half mile of the permit area may request to have a structural blasting survey of their dwelling conducted by contacting the above permittee or the Maryland Bureau of Mines, in writing, at 160 South Water Street, Frostburg, Maryland 21532.
