NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND FINAL NOTICE OF INTENT TO APPLY FOR 2014 CDBG ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM FUNDS (COUNTY OF SOMERSET) AND NOTICE OF INTENT TO APPLY FOR CDBG COMPETITIVE FUNDS AND FOR BUDGET REVISIONS TO THE COUNTY OF SOMERSETÕS CDBG ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM FUNDS FOR YEARS 2011, 2012 & 2013 In accordance with the rules and regulations under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program regulations, the Redevelopment Authority of Somerset County is conducting a second and final public hearing for the purpose of advising residents of the proposed use of the CountyÕs portion of the 2014 CDBG Entitlement Program. The meeting will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 3:30 PM in the CommissionersÕ Board Room, 300 N. Center Avenue, 5th Floor, Somerset, PA 15501. The proposed use of the 2014 funding includes, but is not limited to, demolition activities at sites to be determined at a later date and sanitary sewer improvements. Delivery and administrative expenses will be retained by the Redevelopment Authority for the management and administration of the projects. The County of Somerset is also intending on submitting an application on behalf of the Confluence Borough Municipal Authority and Lower Turkeyfoot Township for the installation of a pump station to supply water to the residents in the Village of Draketown. Project details will be discussed at the public hearing. Budget revisions are necessary to reallocate CDBG program funds for years 2011, 2012 and 2013. Funds previously allocated for projects that will not be moving forward will need to be reallocated to other eligible community development projects. Potential projects will be discussed at the public hearing. Somerset County residents are encouraged to attend and provide comments either at the public hearing or in writing. Written comments may be submitted to the Redevelopment Authority of Somerset County, 300 N. Center Avenue, Suite 520, Somerset, PA 15501, no later than January 30, 2015 in order to be included in the respective application. The general public is also advised that that Somerset County Commissioners will be presented with the applications for their approval and formal adoption at a regular meeting. Subsequent to their approval, the applications will be forwarded to the Department of Community and Economic Development. The applications will be on file at the office of the Somerset County Commissioners and the Redevelopment Authority of Somerset County for public review.
