NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING Stamford Central School District NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special meeting of the inhabitants of the Stamford Central School District, qualified to vote at school meetings in the District, will be held at the Stamford Central School, Stamford, New York on January 29, 2015 between the hours of 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. for the purpose of voting on the proposition herein set forth: Shall the Board of Education expend from the Capital Reserve Fund established on May 7, 2005, the sum of $240,000 for purposes of the reconstruction of the food storage area in the school building, including the demolition of the existing walk-in cooler/freezer, the addition of a new walk-in cooler/freezer, acquisition of a new reach-in refrigerator, floor model mixer, stainless steel shelving and food preparation tables and installation of a dedicated hand sink in the kitchen area. The project will also include the demolition of a rest room and several walls adjacent to the food storage area, including the abatement of certain asbestos containing floor tiles on the rest room floor, the reconstruction of an enlarged food storage area, together with the usual and necessary costs and fees of the entire project. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing on the proposition will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Stamford Central School. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that application for absentee ballots may be applied for at the office of the District Clerk at the District Office of the Stamford Central School District, 1 River Road, Stamford, NY 12167. Such application must be received by the District Clerk at least seven days before the vote set in this notice if the ballot is to be mailed to the absentee voter, or the day before the vote if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the absentee voter. A list of all persons to whom absentee voter ballots have been issued shall be available for public inspection at the office of the School District Clerk during regular office hours which are between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. until the date of the election. Any qualified voter may, upon examination of such list, file a written challenge of qualifications as a voter of any person whose name appears on such list, stating the reason for the challenge. Such list shall also be posted in a conspicuous place during the election, and any qualified voter may challenge the acceptance of the absentee voter's ballot or a person on such voter's ballot or a person on such list, by making this challenge and the reasons for such challenge known to the inspectors of election before the close of the polls.
