The Human Resource Committee has started IBB meetings this fall to discuss the districts Supplemental Pay Schedule as it relates to teacher responsibilities in our Professional Learning Communities. The next meeting is scheduled for January 4th. The Planning Committee met with the DLT on December 14th to review the proposed 2017-2018 school calendar. The Policy Committee typically begins work after the holidays and is focused on updating school district policies. The Project Committee typically begins work in the second semester and is focused on identifying and prioritizing projects needing to be done around the district. Superintendent Parker updated the Board about the difficulties the high school has been experiencing with the main electrical switch to the building, due to the age of the equipment. The cost of repairing this including labor will be $27,173.25 and we plan to pay this from PPEL funds. Superintendent Parker also updated the Board that the application of Anamosa for membership into the River Valley Conference was voted on by the current member schools and all member schools voted yes to include Anamosa as a member beginning the 2018-2019 school year. A second vote of conference schools is required to finalize the process and that meeting is scheduled for January 4th. Superintendent Parker informed that Board that the Clinton Area Des Moines trip is scheduled for January 24th. Superintendent Parker informed the Board that President Dunn, Rox and himself attended the SBRC meeting in Des Moines to discuss the negative unspent balance on December 13th. The SBRC took no significant action other than tabling our request until March and requesting that we provide them with a 5-year projection of the districts financial outlook. Superintendent Parker informed the Board that Peg Wolf was recognized at last months state IASB conference for completing the Basics of Boardsmanship requirements. Superintendent Parker expressed his appreciation for Pegs effort in completing this and thanked her for representing the district. Principals Wiebenga Dohse, and Shaffer updated the Board of the various activities that have been happening in their perspective buildings.
