(Published In THE TIMES, Mayes County, Oklahoma January 8, 2017) TOWN OF SPAVINAW COUNTY OF MAYES STATE OF OKLAHOMA NOTICE BY RESOLUTION OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION RESOLUTION NO. 2016-4 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF SPAVINAW CALLING FOR A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION. Whereas, the Town Board of Trustees of the Town of Spavinaw are required, pursuant to Oklahoma Statutes Title 11 Section 16-101 (2005), to give notice of a special municipal election by resolution. Whereas, the Town Board of Trustees of the Town of Spavinaw are required, to provide in said resolution the facts described in Oklahoma Statutes Title 26 Section 13-102 (2016). Whereas, the Town is required, pursuant to Oklahoma Statutes Title 11 Section 16-101 (2005), to publish such resolution in a newspaper of general circulation in the municipality at least ten days prior to the election. Whereas, the Town Board of Trustees of the Town of Spavinaw are required, pursuant to Oklahoma Statutes Title 26 Section 13-102 (2016), to provide a copy of this resolution to the secretary of the county election board, not fewer than sixty (60) days prior to the election. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF SPAVINAW; 1. That notice of a special municipal election is hereby given. 2. That the date of the special municipal election shall be Tuesday, April 4, 2017. 3. The question to be voted upon at such election shall be: Shall the Clerk-Treasurer be appointed by the board of trustees? ( ) Yes. ( ) No. 4. That the Town Clerk shall cause this resolution to be published, at least ten prior to the election, as required by Oklahoma Statutes Title 11 Section 16-101 (2005). 5. That the Town Clerk shall cause this resolution to be received by the Secretary of the Mayes County Election Board, not fewer than sixty (60) days prior to the election, as required by Oklahoma Statutes Title 26 Section 13-102 (2016).
