PUBLIC NOTICE Notice of Public Hearing The County of Mercer Keystone Communities Accessible Housing Grant The County of Mercer will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. The meeting will be at the office of Mercer County Regional Planning Commission, 2491 Highland Avenue, Hermitage, PA 16148 to hear public views, comments, and further elaborate on their Accessible Housing Grant in the amount of $300,000.00. The County of Mercer proposes to use these funds to provide accessibility improvements, such as ramps, lifts, door-widening, visual door bells, audio phones, visual phone signalers, etc., for residents with permanent physical disabilities at risk of becoming institutionalized or persons of any age with permanent, physical disabilities moving from an institution into the community within Mercer County. The Accessible Housing Grant funds will be administered to the requirements outlined by the Department of Community and Economic Development, DCED. The grant must give preference to people with very low income; two standards include personas at or below 50% of the area median county income and persona at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level Income Guidelines as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Developments (HUD) Section 8 Income Guidelines. Mercer County Regional Planning Commission follows provision of the HUD act of 1968 (12 U.S.C. 1701u-Sec. 3) for the Section 3 MBE/WBE guidelines on behalf of Mercer County. Written comments concerning this application may be submitted to the attention of Chris Conti of Mercer County Regional Planning Commission by 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
