(Published In THE TIMES, Mayes County, Oklahoma January 12, 2016) RESOLUTION 2016-5 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF CHOUTEAU, OKLAHOMA, CALLING FOR THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION IN 2017. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF CHOUTEAU, OKLAHOMA: That a non-partisan general election shall be held on April 4, 2017. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following offices shall be elected for a four (4) year term at said election: a) Trustee / Ward 2 - for a term ending 2021 b) Trustee / Ward 4 - for a term expiring 2021 c) Town Clerk/Treasurer - for a term expiring 2021 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said officers shall be elected at-large. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each candidate for city office shall be a qualified elector of the town, and an actual resident of the town; and that each candidate for the office as a board member shall be an actual resident of the ward for which he or she is a candidate for at least six (6) months prior to filing a declaration of candidacy. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that filing for such offices shall take place in the office of the Mayes County Election Board in Pryor, Creek, Oklahoma, between the dates of Monday, February 6, 2017, through Wednesday, February 8, 2017, inclusive, between the hours 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on said days. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that registered qualified voters residing within the corporate limits of the Town of Chouteau, Oklahoma, shall be eligible to vote in their regular polling places between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on April 4, 2017, and absentee ballots will be provided in accordance with State Law. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the municipality at least ten (10) days prior to the filing period set forth herein.
