PUBLIC NOTICE INVITATION FOR BIDS Sealed proposals will be received and opened publicly at the Meadville City Building, 894 Diamond Park, Crawford County, Meadville, Pennsylvania until 2 p.m. prevailing time, Tuesday, February 7, 2017, for the following: CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE STRAIGHT CURB, SIDEWALK AND DRIVEWAY APRONS ON BALDWIN STREET FROM PARK AVENUE TO THE CITY LINE IN THE CITY OF MEADVILLE Contract documents and specifications may be obtained from the Public Works Department at 1340 South Cottage Street, Meadville, Pennsylvania. Telephone: (814) 333-3339. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bonding the amount of 10% of the contract amount, made out to the City of Meadville, as a guarantee that the bidder will furnish proper bonds satisfactory to the City and enter into a contract to do the said work. This check or bond will be forfeited to the City in case of failure to do the said work. The City of Meadville reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or waive any informality therein, and award the contract to the best interests of the City. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days. Bidders must submit with their bids the non-collusion affidavit contained in the Contract Documents. The Contract Documents contain requirements addressing labor standards, nondiscrimination in hiring practices, goals for minority and female participation, Minority and Women Business Enterprises participation, participation by Section 3 residents and related matters. Where appropriate, the bidders must submit documentary evidence of Minority and Women Business Enterprises who have been contacted and to whom commitments have been made. Documentation of such solicitations and commitments shall be submitted concurrently with the bid. All proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the City of Meadville. ALL ENVELOPES CONTAINING BID PROPOSALS SHALL BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH THE WORDS SEALED BIDAND THE TITLE. The successful bidder will be required to furnish the City of Meadville with a Labor & Materialmans Bond of 100%, a Performance Bond of 100% and proof of insurance. Andrew J.
