NOTICE OF GENERAL ELECTION AND QUALIFYING PERIOD
Notice is hereby given that the General Election of the
City of Thomasville
will be held from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, in school gymnasiums provided at Jerger, Harper, and Scott School precincts, in the cafeteria at the Douglass Resource Center precinct, at the Thomasville Resource Center precinct, and at the Remington Fire Station precinct, to fill the following seats:
City Council District 1, Post 2 District 2, Post 2 At Large - one seat
City Board of Education District 1 - one seat District 2 - two seats
Candidates for the General Election shall qualify at the office of the City Clerk, City Administration Building, 111 Victoria Place, between the hours of 8:30 AM and 1 PM, or 2 PM and 4:30 PM, from Monday, August 28, 2017, through Friday, September 1, 2017. Each candidate, at the time of qualification, shall pay a qualifying fee of $234 for City Councilmember or $35 for the City Board of Education.
Anyone wishing to vote in this election must be registered not later than Tuesday, October 10, 2017, in order to be eligible to vote.
