PUBLIC NOTICE PUBLIC NOTICE FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION 2013 EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANT (ESG) PROGRAM NON-ENTITLEMENT MUNICIPALITIES WITHIN CRAWFORD COUNTY It is the intent of the Crawford County Commissioners to submit two separate applications to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for Federal Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds. For the 2013 Program Year, Crawford County estimates that it will apply for at least $50,000 per grant application. The allowable uses for this grant funding are: rehabilitation or conversion of buildings for use as emergency shelters for the homeless, for the payment of certain expenses related to operating emergency shelters, for essential services related to emergency shelters and street outreach for the homeless, and for homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing assistance. This funding is made available to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, as authorized by subtitle B of title IV of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. In order to receive input from the local units of government, local authorities, and non-profits in Crawford County, a public input meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 10th, 2013, at 10:00AM, at the Crawford County Courthouse, 903 Diamond Park, Meadville, PA 16335. This meeting will provide information regarding the program and allow affected residents an opportunity to discuss the program.
