The improvements are needed to provide system redundancy and to comply with the Environmental Protection Division’s minimum standards. The anticipated cost of the project is $2,664,360. Ashland Independent Schools places great emphasis on early learning and providing students with various opportunities to improve and strengthen school readiness skills. Because of this strong commitment, the school district is hosting its 2nd annual Camp Kindergarten.
Camp Kindergarten is FREE! Breakfast, lunch and transportation will be provided. The camp will be held July 23rd through August 3rd, 2018. Sessions will be held at Charles Russell Elementary School, Crabbe Elementary School, Hager Elementary School, Oakview Elementary School, and Poage Elementary School from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Students must be enrolled and entering Kindergarten in the Ashland Independent School District in the 2018-2019 school year to qualify for Camp Kindergarten.

PUBLIC NOTICE PUBLIC NOTICE FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION 2018 EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANT (ESG) PROGRAM NON-ENTITLEMENT MUNICIPALITIES WITHIN CRAWFORD COUNTY It is the intent of the Crawford County Commissioners to submit an application to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for Federal Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds. For the 2018 Program Year, Crawford County estimates that it will apply for an amount not exceeding $125,000. The allowable uses for this grant funding are: rehabilitation or conversion of buildings for use as emergency shelters for the homeless, for the payment of certain expenses related to operating emergency shelters, for essential services related to emergency shelters and street outreach for the homeless, and for homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing assistance. This funding is made available to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, as authorized by subtitle B of title IV of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. In order to receive input from the local units of government, local authorities, non-profits and residents in Crawford County, a public input meeting will be held on Tuesday July 17, 2018, at 9:00 AM, in the Assembly Room at the Crawford County Courthouse, 903 Diamond Park, Meadville, PA 16335. This meeting will provide information regarding the ESG program and allow for an opportunity to discuss potential projects and plans.
