PUBLIC NOTICE Notice is hereby given by the Board of Supervisors of Union Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, pursuant to §4 of the Local Tax Enabling Act, 53 P.S. §6924.306, of the Board’s intention to adopt certain amendments to certain tax ordinances at the meeting of the Board scheduled for February 17, 2014, at 7:30 p.m., at the Township offices located at 7236 Mercer Pike, Meadville, PA 16335, as more fully described below. The amendments are proposed to be adopted at the same time as the codification, consolidation and revision of the ordinances prepared for the Township, the adoption of which codification of ordinances is proposed to occur at the same time as the amendments described hereinafter in accordance with §1601(d) of the Second Class Township Code, 53 P.S. §66601(d): 1. Amending §5 of Ord. 1990-1, 12/28/1990, imposing a realty transfer tax on certain real estate transfers in the Township, in accordance with the Local Tax Enabling Act, 53 P.S. §6924.101 et seq., and Article XI-D of the Fiscal Code, 72 P.S. §8101-D et seq., to authorize the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to collect unpaid tax, interest and penalty on behalf of the Township at the same time the Commonwealth collects its share of unpaid tax, interest and penalty pursuant to the authority of the Act of July 7, 2005, P.L. 149, No. 40. The proposed amendment is anticipated to have no affect on revenue derived by the Township from the tax.
