PUBLIC NOTICE Pursuant to the SURFACE MINING CONSERVATION and RECLAMATION ACT as amended, the PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION Rules and Regulations and the PENNSYLVANIA CLEAN STREAMS LAW, notice is hereby given that Rosebud Mining Company doing business at 301 Market Street, Kittanning, PA 16201 has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to renew its existing surface coal mine (SMP No. 11850107) and renew the related NPDES permit (PA0597341). The current permit, known as the Sonman No. 2 Mine was issued on February 27, 1989 and will expire on February 27, 2019. This renewal does not contain revisions to the existing operation. This operation contains 85.7 acres in Portage Township, Cambria County and is located at 1055 Dulancy Road, Portage, PA 15946. The receiving streams are Unnamed Tributary to Spring Run and Unnamed Tributary to Trout Run and the area is located on the Ebensburg, PA 7 1/2 minute USGS quadrangle map. A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the PA Department of Environmental Protection, Cambria District Office, 286 Industrial Park Road, Ebensburg, PA 15931. Written comments, objections, or a request for public hearing or informal conference may be submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection, Cambria District Office, 286 Industrial Park Road, Ebensburg, PA 15931 within 30 days from the date of the final (4th) publication of this notice and must include the personÕs name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement as to the nature of the objection(s).
