PUBLIC NOTICE INVITATION FOR BIDS Sealed proposals will be received at the Meadville City Building, 894 Diamond Park, Crawford County, Meadville, Pennsylvania until 2 P.M. o'clock prevailing time, and opened publicly, Monday, May 19, 2014, for the following: BITUMINOUS MILLING AND PAVING AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN THE CITY OF MEADVILLE Contract documents and specifications may be obtained from the Public Works Department at 1340 South Cottage Street, Meadville, Pennsylvania. Telephone (814) 724-6054. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bonding the amount of 10% of the contract amount, made out to the City of Meadville, as a guarantee that the bidder will furnish proper bonds satisfactory to the City and enter into a contract to do the said work. This check or bond will be forfeited to the City in case of failure to do said work. The City of Meadville reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or waive any informality therein, and award the contract to the best interests of the City. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days. All proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the City of Meadville. ALL ENVELOPES CONTAINING BID PROPOSALS SHALL BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH THE WORDS, "SEALED BID", AND THE TITLE OF PROPOSAL. The successful bidder will be required to furnish the City of Meadville with a Labor & Materialman's Bond of 100%, a Performance Bond of 100% and proof of insurance. Proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the Municipality. For third class cities the bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid, made payable to the municipality. For other municipal types, it is the discretion of the municipality. A performance bond or certified check in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be furnished by the successful bidder within 20 days after the contract is awarded.
