Responsibilities
School board members are involved primarily in the following areas:
• Developing policy that governs the operation of schools; • Providing visionary leadership that establishes long-range plans and programs for the district; • Hiring the district superintendent and issuing annual evaluation reports; • Setting local tax rates and practicing vigorous stewardship to ensure that all school district funds are spent wisely.

Madison County School District

has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 1.77 percent.
All citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Hahira Courthouse, located on 301 West Main Street, Hahira, GA on August 2, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
A third and final public hearing on this tax increase and setting of the millage rate will be held at the Hahira Courthouse located at 301 W. Main St. Hahira, GA on August 9, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
This is not a millage increase, as the rate will continue to be 4.750 which was adopted in 2012.

Pursuant to Chapter 13.2502 of the Texas Water Code,Gum Creek Water Supply Corporation hereby gives notice that any person who subdivides land by dividing any lot, tract, or parcel of land, within the service area of
Gum Creek Water Supply Corporation, Certificate of Convenience and Necessity No. 10799, in Cherokee County, into two or more lots or sites for the purpose of sale or development, whether immediate or future, including re-subdivision of land for which a plat has been filed or recorded OR request more than two water service connections on a single contiguous tract of land must comply with the Non- Standard Service Requirements (the "Subdivision Policy") contained in Gum Creek Water Supply Corporation’s tariff.

Pursuant to Chapter 13.2502 of the Texas Water Code, West
Jacksonville Water Supply Corporation
hereby gives notice that any person who subdivides land by dividing any lot, tract, or parcel of land, within the service area of West Jacksonville Water Supply Corporation, Certificate of Convenience and Necessity No. 11328, in Cherokee County, into two or more lots or sites for the purpose of sale or development, whether immediate or future, including re-subdivision of land for which a plat has been filed or recorded OR request more than two water service connections on a single contiguous tract of land must comply with the Non-Standard Service Requirements (the "Subdivision Policy") contained in West Jacksonville Water Supply Corporation’s tariff. West Jacksonville Water Supply Corporation is not required to extend retail water service to a service applicant in a subdivision where the developer of the subdivision has failed to comply with the Subdivision Policy.
Applicable elements of the Subdivision Policy include:
• Evaluation by West Jacksonville Water Supply Corporation of the impact a proposed subdivision service extension will make on West Jacksonville Water Supply Corporation’s water supply system and payment of the costs for this evaluation;
• Payment of reasonable costs or fees by the developer for providing water supply capacity;
• Payment of fees for reserving water supply capacity;
• Forfeiture of reserved water supply capacity for failure to pay applicable fees;
• Payment of costs of any improvements to West Jacksonville Water Supply Corporation’s system that are necessary to provide the water service;
• Construction according to design approved by West Jacksonville Water Supply Corporation and dedication by the developer of water facilities within the subdivision following inspection.
"Developer" means any person who subdivides land or requests more than two water or sewer service connections on a single contiguous tract of land.

1. Boles ISD offers career and technical education programs in Agricultural Courses, Family and Consumer Science, technical Courses, Business Courses, Math, and Science. Admission to these programs is based on enrollment.
2. It is the policy of Boles ISD not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or handicap in its vocational programs, services or activities as required by title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.
