REPUBLIC ENERGY, LLC, 4101 SLATE DRIVE, SCARBRO, WV 25917 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 299.14 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number O012583 to maintain a coal preparation facility, a refuse disposal facility and a haulroad in the N/A seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Workman Creek of Clear Fork of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 1.5 miles, southwest of Clear Creek in Clear Fork District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81° 21’ 53” and Latitude 37° 53’ 17” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until September 1, 2018, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
