The pipe installation runs parallel to the rail road tracks at this location. Railroad right of way extends 25 feet from the centerline of the tracks while the city right of way along this corridor is 80 feet wide. There is about 5 feet of space before a potential conflict between the railroad right-of-way and City right-of-way. This will allow the contractor enough space to install the pipe. The City will work with the property owner to obtain an easement while the work is occurring however, prior to the start of work a temporary fence, incidental to the project shall be installed to provide a barrier between the construction site and the railroad right-of-way. Upon completion of the project, surface restoration will be performed along the entire length of installed pipe and across the 30 foot easement. Cass County Council on Aging will be changing its Senior fare rates. The current rate is "donations only." As of January 1st, 2019, Cass Area Transit will be adjusting Senior fares to (20) free rides per month and after 20 rides seniors (60 years and older) will be charged a full fare of $2 per trip.
